Tary Keita

Born in 1978 in Bamako, Mali. She lives and works in Bamako.


Tary Keita is a painter graduated from the National Institute of Arts (INA) of Bamako and President of the Association of Plastic Women of Mali.
She was exhibited at the Center Soleil d’Afrique Gallery in Bamako, at the Institut Français of Bamako (2012, 2014, 2015), at the Anw Kô Arts Gallery in Accra and in Casablanca in 2017 (Afric’Art Festival).
As an affirmed Feminist, the living conditions of African women and especially Malians are naturally at the center of the work of Tary Keita.
Her materialistic paintings with diffused contours are simple arrangements dressed in shades resembling the earth. The corporality of her works is affirmed by scratching and collage where spout a contained violence.
